Wendy graduated from New York University with a B.A. in Sociology and Social Entrepreneurship. Upon completing her undergrad, she pursued a Master’s in Public Administration at NYU. Wendy has deep experience in both higher education and college admissions, having worked at NYU for over ten years.
Wendy is passionate about coaching college applicants as it opens the doors to their future beyond what they could expect. She enjoys helping applicants discover their skills, interests, and strengths and seeing their excitement in this critical stage of life. She has worked with several students to identify school lists, break down the application process, set timelines, and develop impactful college application materials, helping them get accepted to top colleges around the country.
Wendy’s greatest strengths as a coach are: making space for students and listening to them, personalizing her approach for each student, helping them break down the application process into steps, and developing work plans. She is committed to each student she works with–helping them develop a college application package that highlights their strengths and what makes them a unique candidate, allowing them to reach their potential and honor the work they put in for their education.
Andy has a Master’s degree from UC Irvine and has over a decade of experience in SAT, ACT, and GRE tutoring. Andy loves to see learners push themselves out of their comfort zones and gain the confidence to reach their goals. In working with students of all backgrounds and abilities, from first-generation students to children of Ivy League alumni, their favorite tutoring moments are when candidates spot patterns in tests and therefore realize they have the skills to ace the ACT or SAT. This is why Andy focuses on strategy first, personalizing each learning plan to the candidate's unique strengths and goals.
Andy is passionate about helping students understand different ways to approach a problem or understand a concept - there's never one right way because everyone learns differently. They are skilled at helping students spot the differences between what they learned in classes at school and what to pay attention to on a standardized test. Andy also likes creating graphic organizers and other tools to help applicants stay organized and break the work down visually. Nothing makes them happier than congratulating a graduating senior – especially one who was nervous at the beginning of the school year – and seeing the excitement in their eyes when they talk about what's ahead of them.
Andy's greatest strengths as a tutor include empathizing with students, respecting their learning styles, and developing customized tools and strategies to help applicants stay organized and focused. Andy has helped students gain acceptance to several prestigious schools, including UC Berkeley, UCLA, NYU, and Northwestern University.
Outside of their work, Andy enjoys walking around Los Angeles, learning about local history, reading, and watching horror movies.

Following her undergraduate degree, Maddy pursued a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Chicago and a PhD in Public Health from Drexel University.
Maddy loves learning about what students are passionate about and how they can translate these interests into research projects. With years of experience as a coach, she has a thorough understanding of the college application process through the eyes of the student and uses her expertise to guide students from all backgrounds.
Throughout her education, Maddy worked closely with Cornell’s admissions team as both a Student Admissions Ambassador, giving information sessions and tours to prospective Cornell students and their families, and as an Alumni Admissions Ambassador, meeting with students who have applied to Cornell and then briefly evaluating them for the admissions committee. After these roles, she spent several years working in academic and other support roles with high school students in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Ithaca, NY. In addition to her work with admissions committees and high school students, she spent several years working with applicants from underrepresented backgrounds (e.g., candidates of color, low-income applicants, and first-generation students) in post-secondary planning.
As a mentor, Maddy empathizes deeply with her students– allowing her to cater to each student’s experience. She excels at helping QRI students determine their strengths and break down the complexities of the research process. In her many years of experience working with young people, she is driven by their enthusiasm to explore and create opportunities through research. She truly enjoys being a part of their growth by sharing what she has learned from her personal and professional experiences.
